A MULTI-PURPOSE SPORTS COMPLEX TO FINALLY BE BUILT IN LITTLE TOKYO

The concept of a recreation center in Little Tokyo to help revive the area has been around
for close to four decades. In 1994, after a series of community planning sessions, the
Little Tokyo Service Center (LTSC) was assigned the task to help identify a site for the
facility.

After searching for over seventeen years for a suitable site, the City of Los Angeles on
May 17, 2011, granted LTSC with a long-term lease for city owned land located in Little
Tokyo, near Downtown Los Angeles.

Today, LTSC is embarking on a major capital campaign to fulfill a long-term dream for
the community and build a major sports and activities center, called the Budokan of Los
Angeles.

Key Features in the Budokan:

• Environmentally sustainable development
• Rooftop garden with jogging track and outdoor deck which can be utilized for
events, performances, etc.
• Up to four (4) high school regulation sized indoor basketball courts
• State of the art scoreboards and displays
• Men’s and Women’s locker rooms
• Meeting rooms for community use.
• Commercial kitchen for special events and private functions.
